A 56,200 dwt bulk carrier (Hull no: F56-NT03) named Vosco Sunrise, which is being built for Vietnam Ocean Shipping Joint Stock Company (Vosco), was successfully launched at Nam Trieu shipyard on 16th Dec 2012.
Vosco Sunrise was designed by IHI Marine United INC and being supervised by Class Societies NKK – VR. This vessel is 190 metres LOA, with moulded breadth of 32.26 metres, and a draft of 12.70 metres. She is equipped with main engine DU WARTSILA 6RT-flex 50, having output of 8.890 KW and constructed in compliance with the updated rules for bulkers of related international regulations and conventions. The Shipbuilding Contract for Construction and Sale of this vessel signed between Vietnam Ocean Shipping JSC (Vosco) and Nam Trieu Shipyard was in accordance with the Government’s Guidelines on supporting Vinashin’s Restructuring Program.
Being a leading shipping company in Vietnam, since its founding, Vosco has unceasingly developed and upgraded its fleet, especially by building new vessels in domestic shipyards. The launching of Vosco Sunrise, leading to its taken delivery on late 1st quarter 2013 is in conformity with Vosco’s fleet development strategic of modernization and synchronization. Vosco Sunrise comes as the biggest one in our fleet, contributing to increase Vinalines’ transportation capacity and also appropriately serving for the development of national tonnage in line with the orientation of Vietnam Sea Strategic to 2020.
Given the current economic climate, the shipping business is facing a most ever difficult period, leading to the restriction of business operations of many shipowners. Nevertheless, Vosco are striving utmost and closely co-operate with Nam Trieu Shipyard to entirely complete the construction of vessel on the given schedule. It is believed that after taken delivery, the operation of Vosco Sunrise will effectively contribute to the business results of Vosco.
